ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVES Return to By-Laws' main page. Section 6.1 Election.
Schools and other District sites which are on a traditional calendar will conduct the election of the Association Representative(s) on a day from April 1st to April 10th. Schools which are on a year round schedule will conduct the election on the first track-change day in April. Members in good standing of this Association in each public school or other educational institution in this school district, shall elect one Association Representative to the Representative Council for each eighteen of said members or major fraction thereof. The election shall be conducted by secret ballot. Section 6.2 Term.
Association Representatives shall take office the first day following the end of the school year and continue in office until the last day of the school year at the end of two years. Association Representatives may serve multiple terms. If negotiations extend past the end of the school year, the outgoing Representatives shall retain their voting authority in the ratification procedure. Section 6.3 Duties.
The Association Representative shall be a member of the Representative Council. It shall be his/her duty to attend all meetings of the Council as a representative of the Association members that elected him/her. The Association Representative shall promote the goals and programs of the Association among his/her constituents and serve as a primary channel of communication between the members and Association leaders. Election as an Association Representative shall constitute election to the UEA House of Delegates as a regular delegate or alternate delegate.
Section 6.5 Transfers.
In the event an elected Association Representative transfers from the school electing him/her, a new Representative shall be elected to fill the unexpired term. Return to By-Laws' main page. |
